So. Um. Hi.
Apparently I haven't posted since May? How is this possible? Okay, well I know how it's possible. My computer died and so I didn't have internet access for a couple of months. Then, I got a new computer, but promptly moved to an apartment that didn't have internet.

Meanwhile, I'm a grad student (again), which is eating up a ton of my time.

And, on top of that, I'm also dating an absolutely great guy who I never get to see because of the whole school thing, so when I'm free I sort of gravitate towards seeing him.

BUT! Just a week ago, I finally got internet back in my apartment! I can finally read fic again! And watch TV (as I have no TV, all my shows are consumed via the iternet). I've already consumed the entire season of Castle. I have thoughts. I will share them later.

What all that means is that I'm hopelessly behind on fandom. Oh fandom, how I've missed you.

Also, I'm nuts and signed up for NaNo again. I'm tooo busy for it, but I love the idea of writing with so many other people. I'm 2_Journey there too if anyone wants a writing buddy.

Fun with my flist meme!

Comment and I will....

Supernatural 5x20

Crowley/Gabriel, people. That's all I'm saying.Collapse )

Supernatural 5x19 OMG!

After having lucdarling flail to me via text about once every five minutes as the episode aired, I couldn't wait to watch it.  And I'm so glad I did!  This episode was worth giving up an hour of sleep.

Thoughts, as usual, in list form.  What?  You know you love it.Collapse )

In conclusion, epic show is epic!  Cannot wait for next week!

So I finally watched the last two episodes of Supernatural
I have been really, really busy lately, which is why I haven't been posting and I haven't been writing.  And I missed the last two episodes of Supernatural because I had to go to dance rehearsal.  (I know!  I know!)  But I finally sat myself down tonight and watched them.  And OMG YOU GUYS!!

Thoughts.  I have them.  My thoughts are days late, but I have them.

In list form, because I am sooo not coherent right now.

5x17 - 99 ProblemsCollapse )

5x18 - Point of No ReturnCollapse )
Alright, random episode-related freakout over.  In other news, I have a surprise day off tomorrow!  I don't know what I'll do (read fic) but I know I'm going to try to sleep in.  \o/

Castle 2x19 - Wrapped Up In Death

It was about archaeology!  Squee!!Collapse )

Castle 2x17 - Tick, Tick, Tick

o.m.g.  omg.  OMG!

Okay, so I have flailed on the phone already to lucdarling, but it seems I have more flailing to flail.Collapse )

And I have not had a single spoiler for next week, so if you spoil me I will have to end you.

In conclusion: Show, how are you so awesome?

Torchwood, belatedly

So a friend and I are addicted to Torchwood, but our addiction is one we feed in small doses, mostly due to our schedules being crazy so we can't get together to watch it often.  This is combined with a pact we made to watch Torchwood together.

So tonight we finally took a hearthy swing at the second half of season two.  We have two episodes left, but will hopefully watch them next weekend.  And then we can finally, finally watch Children of Earth.  I estimate we'll be done watching that by June or so.  (Have been by this point well and truly spoiled, but whatever.  If I haven't seen it yet, then it hasn't happened yet in my world.)

Every time I finish one of these Torchwood binges, I get a serious craving for Jack/Ianto fic.  Long, plotty ones.

So now I'm rushing off to search the internet and read to my little heart's content.

In other news, saw some guy on the Metro today with a Kindle, and now I totally want one.  It was so cute and technological!  Thought: Fic on Kindles.  I want!

So I went a little nuts in the DVD section of the library today

My local library has a surprisingly large and current DVD section, alphabetized by title.  Today my brother and I decided to spend some quality time there, and here is what we ended up coming home with:

...a lot more films than we planned.Collapse )

...And as you can see, we only made it through the letter E.  There were too many tempting options!  I blame whoever at the library is in charge of DVD selection, because dude - this is way better than redbox.  And we only have seven days to watch all of them, because the library is mean and doesn't let us renew movies.  And...hmmm.  I checked out two films purely because of the soundtrack.  Predictable, yes?

In other news, have now watched episodes 1 - 3 of Caprica.  I don't want to get too excited about this just yet, but I may have found a new TV addiction.  I don't know how the show will be received by people who haven't watched Battlestar, but as a recovering (who am I kidding?)Battlestar addict, Caprica hit me hard.  I have many thoughts that I will need to get down in the next day or so, but for now: YAY NEW SHOW!  (See?  I did get excited in the end.  BSG played with my emotions so hard over that last season and a half, though, that I'm not sure I want to trust Caprica yet.  But it has so much potential.)

Caprica does have one thing that BSG did not.  Say it with me now: Gay mobster uncle.  So that's good, anyway.

Grad school again
So today I received my first grad school rejection today.  Not an auspicious beginning to my vacation.  To be fair, I knew I wouldn't get in to Emory, but at the same time I'm starting to worry that I won't get in anywhere.

Have decided to apply to a few more terminal Masters programs as well.  Just in case.
